Humans are Light

By Rüya Yönak

Translated By Thomas Parker

Humans are light

Fragile

Frail

Made of glass.

Their bodies bear heavy on their souls,

Made of mud

Filthy and sinful.

As they die, their bodies become heavier

With the space of their freed soul,

They become uncarriable.

Humans are light,

Light are their souls.

With all the anger and hate the body does carry.

And the mercy and love the soul does carry

Once it is released, its place is in the heavens

It cannot stay stuck in the clay.

Insanlar hafiftir

Kırılgan,

Narin,

Camdan.

Ağır gelir bedenleri ruhlarına,

Çamurdan,

Kirli ve günahkar.

Ölünce ağırlaşır vücutlar

Özgürleşen ruhun boşluğuyla,

Kaldırılamaz olurlar.

Insanlar hafiftir,

Hafiftir ruhlar.

Beden taşırken tüm nefreti, öfkeyi

Ruhlar taşır merhameti, sevgiyi

Serbest kaldılar mı göklerdedir yerleri

Balçığa saplı kalamazlar.
