Winter on the Domes

By Eric James Beyer

The snow ignores the call to prayer

And in the night when everyone

Has rushed inside to warmth

The song is somehow beautiful

And not intrusive;

Go on, then, sing away

There are no other voices in the city

And for a time the imams seem

As lonely as the rest of us.
