Thoughts and Empty Reflections
by James G. Piatt
The elderly lady
is just a hazy mist
that takes flight
in memories, and
can no longer
taste youthful
hours upon her
tongue.
She lives in a
time that
is fading,
her essence
a mere sliver
of a moonbeam,
an image echoing
in the past.
She sits wearily in
the grayness of
her aging hours
waiting for the
night to empty
her thoughts into
empty reflections.
