The Path to Wonder Ever Carries Traces of Oblivion

 Oisin Breen

In the lengthy absence that leads us to equate thirst with fullness,

And goads the root deeper in its search for water,

The gyre snaps back,

And we begin again,

Beautifully,

Until we end.

And sundered in a quaking rhapsody,

Through a song of mutual overuse,

We stand now where flowers bloom,

In the anticipation of retrospection.
