Resurfacing the Buried
By Aaqib Khatibi
The words torn apart by the pages all that were ablaze
Mere crumbled sentences on the ashes, scatter blissfully on the air
Emotions embedded, disguised in words come down as rains
It mixes in water, cries in waterfalls, screams at the whirlpools of the shore
It goes along in the cycle; agonies can be deceived never be effaced
It travels the distances on period chasing all our trodden paths
And all the rusting souvenirs on the shelf collect the dust of lost memories
Memories from the ashes of the words, collected to weave emotions
The presence lingers somewhere marking the recommence
The moisture on the cheeks still stands intact after the whole years that passed
Just a brief sight is enough to resurface all the grim
But again, I bury, divert the sight and pretend all the feelings fall apart.
