Life is a Dollop

By Joe Vickers

Life is a dollop,

a scoop of juice in you.

You recollect yourself in

admiration: I was a dollop,

a drop of dew,

dripping moisture on the

plant – (but) the sunshine already

peaked forgetting.

A bit of something in you – that’s

what life was. Something

fading passing. It fell off

the leaf or something.

Joe Vickers was born in the US, studied English and writing in Wisconsin and has lived in other countries since. After many years in Istanbul, he moved to Berlin, where he currently lives with his wife.
