I wonder

Zélia De Sousa

‘Oh no, not again’ I said panicking. My right side started to hurt. ‘Are my kidney stones back?’ It’s my one year anniversary since I was rushed to hospital. The worst pain I have ever experienced.

I followed my instinct to go out for fresh air. The bystander walking towards me throws his cigarette butt on the floor. ‘That’s weird, the ash is flashing’.  I stop. ‘No way’ I said out loud.  And picked it up

Arriving home feeling much better, I open the black pouch – A Samsung A10 galaxy phone. Inside the pockets is a ten-pound note and a winning one-pound scratch card.

Does honesty have to be the best policy?

I called the owners landline number printed on his business card… No reply.

I hoped the owner would call his mobile phone so I could give him the good news – ‘your phone is safe’. No call.

I tried breaking his ‘pattern pin number’, I was going to take a chance texting a listed number…You have one more attempt said the phone. ‘Oh dear, what was I thinking’.

The next morning, to my surprise, he replied to my email. ‘You have my phone?’ I sensed his excitement

Dropping off his phone personally to his home, he hands me a thank you card. I was taken back, my thank you card, came with twenty pounds.

Could it be the spirit realm purposely poked my side, Sunday night, 9:30 pm, so I could have gone for a walk? Was the phone protected until I saw it? Was the man smoking the cigarette… a spirit guide or an angel?

I wonder…
