Creation’s Song

By Jim Reiman

I heard a sound the other day

it came from some place far way

the sound of notes so sweetly played

on strings

from a harp that god has made

is it the sound of time begun

that perfect note of only one

that one clear perfect note I heard

joined by other notes until

the notes swirl and dance in perfect form

and soon a perfect song is born

a song so sweet night turns to day

the void of darkness is swept away

and on and on the notes will play

in rhythm of the cosmos sway

from empty space that song is sung

creation’s bells of birth are rung

the nothingness that was before

now creation’s song forevermore

until eternity no longer sings

until the bells no longer ring

until the light of day is gone

and notes no longer make that song
