Besides a Window
Priya Chouhan
A light wind blowing, a rustle of leaves,
Someone’s presence beneath a street lamp, eyeballs gazed at the road downhill.
Hair covered his side face, hands in a constant panic,
Brown lips whispering the name of her.
Cars slept soundly, moonless midnight,
An inaudible ringtone alarmed the birds.
Forehead broke out in a sweat, pounding beats of heart could be heard,
Looking away from the world, he waited.
A distant shadow, vibration of musical anklets caressed his numb ears,
a beauteous half smile(of the guy), everything came to a standstill.
A long goodbye kiss,
watched their love story while sitting beside a window.
Hair covered - - - - - - her!
